By the summer of 2013 the re-emergence of the huge bushy beard on fashion-show catwalks was also international news. The Daily News reported from Paris, ‘the full beard is back in fashion in France to the delight of the nation’s barbers’. By the end of the year, whiskers, beards and moustaches were everywhere, and pognophobes were hiding indoors. The beard and moustache in particular had reached a popularity level unseen for more than four decades.
