Incredibeard (or Isaiah Webb to his friends) is a bearded Internet sensation. He creates beard styles and designs for men looking to get spectacular with their facial hair.

If you want to emulate the ‘Queen, mid-cartwheel’ or the ‘Wookie’s Uterus’ (or just want to check I haven’t gone completely mad) then you need to get over to his website, Mr Incredibeard.

With his new beard-centric, charity-focused apparel line due to launch any day now, we were lucky enough to track down the man himself for a catch up and to learn more about that incredibeard of his.

How long have you had your beard and what made you decide to grow one?

I’ve had some form of facial hair since I was in 7th grade. I’ve had a short beard for around 5 years now. It wasn’t until a little over 18 months ago that I started to grow it out. Believe it or not, it was my wife that pushed me to grow a beard, and also to grow it out long.

How did your career as a bearded Internet sensation kick off?

After growing out my beard for around six months, my wife and I were sitting down at an Indian restaurant one day and started to play around with the beard. We just split it down the centre, gave it a name and started an Instagram account. It started to take off and we figured we’d try to make some more styles. We never knew it would turn out to be so well-liked.

Do you have a day job? If so, how do your co-workers react to your beard?

My beard is my new day job. Soon I will be going public with my own apparel line, beard-centric of course. Prior to creating my own business my co-workers actually loved the beard. I would wear the designs to work and everyone would get a kick out of them.

We like to ask our interviewees about their grooming habits. Do you have a secret haunt you could share with us? Do you have any favourite products or brands?

The longer the beard grows the more care I must take of it. I usually put an oil-based cream or straight beard oil in my beard twice a day (morning and night) along with shampooing and conditioning it as needed. My favourite brand of beard oil is The Bearded Bastard’s beard oil. A secret I do for my beard is, every other day I use a very dense, oil based, conditioner after I get out of the shower. Once it’s rubbed in I blow dry it. You gotta take care of your beard when you beat it up as bad as I do.

If you could pick just one grooming product to take on a desert island what would it be and why?

Unfortunately there is no all-inclusive product. My gambit of products runs around 10 strong right now. However, if I were forced to bring only one product, it would probably be The Bearded Bastard’s beard oil.

What’s the best part about having a beard?

Everything. Seriously, life is better with a beard. It’s healthier for you, it’s a great ice breaker, it’s fun to play with and people either love it or hate it. The list goes on and on.

Beards are still hot news (especially in the UK). What are your views on Beard Mania and their popularity in Hollywood and fashion? Are they here to stay?

Bearding is not a fad, it’s a lifestyle. My motto is live long, beard longer. Hollywood and fashion are so fickle, but I’ll let you know something… beards have been around longer than fashion has been popular.

You have done some amazing things with your beard – we particularly enjoyed the noodle cradle. Which is your favourite and why?

This is a tough question. From a humour standpoint, I think the Bowl O’Beard Ramen wins, but from a technical standpoint the Terminal Trapezoid is the hands down winner.

Who is your ultimate bearded hero and what makes his beard so special?

My dad. To me, he’s the ultimate beard because I’ve never seen him without one. That’s real dedication.

Could you imagine life without your beard?

Nope, could you live without your heart?
