Australian born, Sebastian Tarek makes beautiful handmade bespoke shoes from his Hackney-based studio in London. Creating refined footwear for discerning clients with ‘architectural silhouettes and subtle use of colour’ his shoes start at around £1800 a pair – but if treated with love and care could last up to 30 years.
His materials are UK sourced and it takes anything from 60 to 80 hours to make one pair, but Cordwainer trained Tarek is one of a dying breed of craftsmen. He uses traditional techniques and instruments to produce true labours of love.
