When you have a fully developed (and extremely manly) beard you will probably have accumulated a number of  grooming products and accessories in your bathroom cabinet to keep it in tip top shape. One of these items is almost certainly a beard brush, as, just like the hair on your head, your facial hair needs a brush for precisely the same reasons.

It was therefore with great delight that we received the beautifully packaged, handmade beech wood beard brush from renowned UK manufacturer, Kent to test and review.

Beard Brush Brush 1

First off I have to comment on the packaging. ‘Some Men Build A Legacy – Real Men Grow One’ (marked in bold on the retro brown box packaging) says it all really – this brush isn’t messing around. It was originally created in 1700’s for the bearded gentlemen of the era but has been revived and tweaked with loving care to cater to today’s urban beardsmen.

And it didn’t disappoint either. It produced beautifully groomed whiskers, distributing the oils uniformly and making our beard lusciously silky to touch. It managed to keep the wild hairs at bay as well as keeping out all the tangles with its natural boar bristles which have been specially cut and shaped to improve brushing performance. And even though the bristles were firm they were by no means ‘scratchy’ – as some beard brushes can be. The handle is angled so that the fisted hand moves away from the face so the brush head has an ‘uninterrupted canvas for grooming and styling.” In addition the grip ‘for right-handed gents’ was comfortable for perfect control.

Beard Brush 2

Each brush comes with a beautiful hand-stitched cotton travel pouch printed on both sides. One side features the Kent company logo from the 1700’s whilst the reverse side is emblazoned with an illustration by Icelandic artist, Andre Visage. Not only a handy bag to store your brush in but for those who use beard oil it will protect your clothes from any excess oil held in the brush head from leaching into unwanted places e.g your suit pocket or the lining of your favourite man bag.

The price could seem a tad on the expensive size but here at Beardrevered we believe in the old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ – it definitely applies here. Plus any brush that can ‘amplify the incredibleness of your beard‘ has to be worth at least £20. The perfect addition to your grooming arsenal, Beardrevered awards the Kent Beard Brush the full 5 Stars!
